Dr. Rivas took some time off to operate as a general surgeon with the Flying Samaritans in San Quintin, Baja Mexico. This organization is a non-profit group dedicated to providing free healthcare services to people in Mexico who otherwise have no access to medical care. Most patients walk many miles to wait for the chance of surgery. The volunteer team completed twenty-one surgeries and all patients are recovering well!
